San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

A home in San Miguel de Allende, chosen with intention.

I help buyers from the United States and Canada find the right home here, with the same advisory approach and discretion my Lake Lanier clients expect.

From Ashley

The right home is not always about location. It is about how you want to live.

I am a luxury real estate advisor based on Lake Lanier, north of Atlanta, where I lead DreamSmith Realty with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners. Over the years, more and more of my clients have asked the same question: where would we go if we could spend part of the year somewhere else? For many of them, the answer turned out to be San Miguel de Allende.

San Miguel rewards slowing down. Mornings start with coffee on a rooftop terrace, afternoons end in a garden courtyard, and the historic center is a short walk from most of the neighborhoods people ask me about. It is the kind of city that makes sense as a second address for part of the year, and for some, eventually, as home.

Here, I work in collaboration with CDR San Miguel | Forbes Global Properties, the local brokerage on the ground. I advise and represent my buyers. They handle the local showings, the contracts, and the closing process with the notario. You get me, straightforward and to the point, and a discreet process from the first conversation to the keys.

Why San Miguel

A few facts worth knowing before you fall for the bougainvillea

UNESCO World Heritage

The historic center of San Miguel de Allende has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008, inscribed together with the Sanctuary of Atotonilco.

Highland climate

The city sits at roughly 1,900 meters, about 6,200 feet, in the central highlands of Guanajuato, with a mild, dry climate most of the year.

Two airports, about ninety minutes

Querétaro (QRO) and León/Guanajuato (BJX) are each roughly ninety minutes by car, and both have nonstop flights to US hubs.

Direct title for foreign buyers

San Miguel is inland, outside Mexico’s restricted coastal and border zone, so foreign buyers can hold direct title with no bank trust required. The notario handles closing.

Best small city in the world

Condé Nast Traveler readers have named San Miguel de Allende the best small city in the world more than once.

The ownership and closing points are explained in plain language in the buyer’s guide.
